Linux & Modbus/TCP

These are my notes on learning about Modbus/TCP (which I'll just refer to as Modbus from now on). Understand I'm going from zero knowledge of modbus to not much further past that ;-) . I've picked up a Modbus controller (Phoenix Contact - FL-IL-24-BK-PAC, Ethernet bus coupler) and a Inline segment terminal block ( IB-IL-24-SEG-PAC). I'm hoping that this will allow me to read from the Modbus and find the state of the inputs.
